HSBC Inverness

Date: 25-09-2009

After a successful HSBC Branch opening I asked back to perform at another HSBC Bank night.  It’s always nice to keep the repeat booking rate high so I said yes and then I found out it was in Inverness.  It was a case of first the good news.  Inverness is just over 3 hours away from Glasgow but hey it’s not the end of the world and with Six hours alone with the radio I decided to listen to a magic audio book called Carter Beats the Devil.  I only managed to listen to the first 4 CD’s but it’s great.  I’m going to download a lot of audio books and business programs as well to use my time a little more efficiently as I tend to spend one night a week in outside of Glasgow at the moment

On arrival the Sat Nav took me to the wrong place and I checked the trusty I-phone google maps and nether could find High Street.  So I decided to go for a wonder round Inverness.  Coming from Glasgow it’s strange to walk round a place that’s so small.  Anyway I eventually found it and it was nice to see the friendly faces from Men in Green Jason and Vicky.  I wonder how Vicky feels to be part of a company called Men in Green.  I also got to meet the main man himself Marcus who was happy for me to do my thing.

When the clients started walking in, it was time for work.  It was a really busy event but because of my style of magic I can get round lots of groups better than most.

As the speeches were about to begin, I passed by Gavin Hastings (ex Scottish rugby player)  We started talking about Derren Brown again and then I remembered that my uncle Guy knows Gavin so we started talking about that as well.

The second half went just as well as the first half and I performed to the same group on about 5 occasions which was good becaus they kept asking me back.

On the way home I was desperate for a coffee stop and set off at 22:00.  At 00:30 I arrived at the first service station that served coffee.  It seemed pretty pointless as I only had 30 minutes to go but it allowed me to have a sneaky wee empire biscuit as well.
