FTV Diamond Dolls (Glasgow) With Caprice Review

Date: 05-10-2009

I was lucky enough to perform magic for an unusual event in October.  Fashion TV which is broadcast in over 100 countries was raising money for a charity called DEBRA

FTV was hosted by Caprice in Diamond Dolls in Glasgow.  The fashion show was excellent.   At the end, Caprice came on and said some words of thanks to the Glasgow people.  Not knowing much about fashion all I can say is the models walked up and down the catwalk with different outfits.  Is there any more to it that that? I don’t know.  I was hoping to learn more about fashion but all I could think after the show was ‘why models don’t smile?’

It was my job to warm-up the crowd. Firstly I provided the VIP entertainment and then off to the normal punters.  Both went well and my celebrity status is certainly growing as I was asked to be in about 10 photos.

When I finished working, I thought I may as well stay about for the after party.  A few months ago I performed in the club room of Diamond Dolls and it was awesome.  Diamond Dolls, has 3 rooms, the main room for the Exotic dancers, the corporate room for (funnily enough) corporate hospitality and the other room is a club room for you’ve guessed it, club nights. It has to be said, it’s one of the most modern/classiest club rooms in Glasgow.  There are 2 poles in the middle of the room and periodically dancers put on amazing choreographed shows.

A few highlights of my night

1)      When one of the male audience members decided to strip on stage.  The DJ put on a song and he was left to drunkenly strip down to his birthday suit before performing a silence of the lambs finish.

2)      Watching one of the new girls trying to conquer the age old question of how best to negotiate a flight of stairs in 9 inch platform shoes and a mini-skirt.  It was reminiscent of Ed 209 from Robocop

3)      Talking to Ami-Lee again.  She’s one of the funniest girls I’ve ever met so it was good to get a catch up

4)      The after show party was hosted by Steve McKenna from Radio 1.  And I got the chance to perform some magic for him and his co-host Lynn.
