The magic of Glasgow Being a Scottish magician, I cover all of Scotland and even venture into the land of England from time to time to provide them with some much needed Glasgow banter. However, I must confess I have a soft spot for the Glaswegians and I do love working so close to home. Last night was my first 30th birthday party of the year in Glasgow and it went down absolutely fantastic. When I get hired for birthday parties I’m usually a surprise guest; but, last night was different in that quite a few of the 60 people has seen me before and everyone else had heard I was coming. Bad Start The night got off to a bad start for me. I had hoped I could sneak in and get a glass of water because my mouth was bone dry. However, as people knew who I was I was immediately involved in conversation. Highlights Caroline: I saw a lady who looked similar to one of my favourite female comedians - Lucy Porter. She had on a very elegant black dress, lovely necklace and the cheekiest of smiles – I can’t make up my mind if I want to put her on top of the Christmas tree or marry her. The guys from Spice: I forget the guys name but he’s a big magic fan and he basically sold my show to all the other people. Something that always amazes me is when somebody describes to their friends exactly what happens in the trick, I then perform the trick and the audience are still surprised – weird Joanne (formerly miss Brown): Joanne is a magician’s dream! She should literally be in every magic DVD the world has ever produced. She kept screaming at my tricks and even gave me a big kiss on the cheek to say thanks. Her husband is a very lucky man and an exceptionally big magic fan as well. Sarah: I was booked 8:30 – 10 but finished around 10:30 when I started chatting to Sarah. Lovely girl, ended up talking for about half an hour to her about all sorts and may have even set her up on a date with one of my friends.
