Secret gig, Robotic clown and the lack of petrol

Date: 21-02-2010

Well the secret gig in King Tut’s had none other than Biffy Clyro as the headliner.  It was a fun night although a lot of hard work.  I even bumped into the bar man from the Halt Bar which was weird as I normally only see him on Tuesdays at the comedy night.

After the King Tut’s gig I headed straight through to Edinburgh for another show.  I’ve never performed for 5 hours in such noisy environments before and must admit, I did fear for my vocal chords.  They held up fine though and it was a yet another fun event., where I was proposed to 4 times by a some crazy Dutch girls. Another reason it was so fun was because  I was working alongside another performer called Dunno the Clown.  Dunno is a great performer and not only is he a children’s entertainer he is also one of the pioneering Robot impersonators.  If you cast your mind back to 1983 and think of the guy in Argyle who added technology to a mime act – that was Robert The Robot now known as Dunno the Clown.  Dunno, had his trademark cheeky puppet with him but with it being so loud, the puppets primary weapon of choice eliminated.  Thankfully Dunno can make his Puppet do the Robot dance and this kept the audiences enthralled.

So onto the journey home and I set off with the quest of a petrol, coffee and a bathroom.  Then came the dreaded choice of; ‘ is it Left or straight on’.  I went Left...I should have went straight on.  When you’ve  no petrol and are falling asleep the one place you don’t want to find yourself is in c country road.  Luckily though, when you have a bulging bladder it’s just so happens to be quite a good place to find yourself.

So eventually I found a petrol station but it didn’t have unleaded petrol.  Luckily though, the nice man told me there was another petrol station 5 minutes away.  When I filled up my car at the other petrol station, I asked for coffee and their coffee machine had broke, so I had to trek back to the No unleaded petrol station for a coffee.

Got home, went to bed.  I do love sleeping.
